Aedes mosquitoes bite throughout the day!

Aedes mosquito, Dengue fever & Chikun Guniya are hot topics of many a place including Kerala & India for more than a decade now. Some of our experts proclaimed that Aedes mosquito, which is the vector of fatal Dengue & nonfatal Chikun-guniya fevers, bites ONLY during daytime. എന്‍റ്റെ പ്രമേഹം ഇനിയും തിരിച്ചെത്തിയില്ല

ഈ ബുധനാഴ്ച(27.01.2010) പതിവു പരിശോധനയ്ക്കു പോയിരുന്നു. മറ്റുള്ളവയ്ക്കൊപ്പം ഷുഗറും നോക്കി. വെറുംവയറ്റിലേതു (FBS) 100 മി. ഗ്രാം %. ഭക്ഷണം കഴിഞ്ഞു 2 മണിക്കൂറിലേത് (PPBS)105 മി. ഗ്രാം %. HbA1C 6%.

ഡോക്ടറെ കാണാന്‍ ചെന്നപ്പോ ഒരു കൂട്ടുകാരനേം ഭാര്യേനേം കണ്‍ടു. മാഡം ഡയബറ്റിക്കാ. രണ്‍ട് ഇഡ്ഡലിയും അര കപ്പു ചായയും മാത്രം കഴിച്ചിട്ടും ഷുഗര്‍ (PPBS) 195 ല്‍ എത്തി! ഞാന്‍ മൂന്നു ഇഡ്ഡലിയും ഒരു കപ്പു ചായയും കഴിച്ചിട്ടും ഷുഗര്‍ (PPBS) 105ല്‍ എത്തിയതേയുള്ളൂ.

പലരും വിചാരിക്ക്യുകയും പറയുകയും ചെയ്തതില്‍നിന്നും വിഭിന്നമായ സംഗതിയാണു സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്. മൂന്നു നേരം അരിയുല്പ്പന്ന ഭക്ഷണവും, കാപ്പി-ചായ കഴിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മധുരമിട്ടും, പല ദിവസവും ഉച്ചക്കു മധുര പലഹാരവും, മിക്ക ദിവസവും 5-6 ചെറുപഴവും വീതം ഏഴു (7) മാസം കഴിച്ചിട്ടും എന്‍ടെ പ്രമേഹം ഇനിയും തിരിച്ചെത്തിയില്ല.

സയന്‍സ് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിലെ (Jan 2010) കേരള ഗ്രാമത്തില്‍ നടത്തിയ പ്രദര്‍ശനത്തില്‍ വന്ന പലര്‍ക്കും അറിയേണ്ടിയിരുന്നത് പ്രമേഹം തിരിച്ചു വരില്ല എന്നു ഉറപ്പുണ്ടോ എന്നായിരുന്നു. ആറു മാസത്തേക്ക്യു തിരിച്ചു വരില്ല എന്നു പറയാനേ ഇപ്പോള്‍ കഴിയൂ എന്നും ഒരു മാസം കൂടി കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ ഏഴു മാസത്തേക്ക്യു പ്രമേഹം തിരിച്ചു വരില്ല എന്നു ഉറപ്പുണ്ടെന്നു പറയാം എന്നുമായിരുന്നു മറുപടി. അത് അച്ചട്ടായിരിക്ക്യുന്നു.

ഒരു കൊല്ലം (ഇനി 5 മാസം കൂടി) കഴിഞ്ഞേ ഒരു കൊല്ലം കഴിഞ്ഞും പ്രമേഹം തിരിച്ചു വരില്ല എന്നു പറയാന്‍ കഴിയു.
